The countdown

So we are in the countdown till our Sweet Sophia's b-day! It will be a whole year on Saturday February 5th since
I was in the hospital holding my new bunddle of joy! I can't believe it's been a whole year! I always say it goes by quickly but I can never seems to grasp the reality of that.! Its such a tough job as a mommy but I know I love every min. And can't wait to celebrate another year that I get to be her mommy! She has brought so much joy to our lives and we are all so blessed to have her in our family.
I will keep the tradition and write a letter to her on her birthday so that she may have 18 of them to read on her 18th birthday... I hope they enjoy them as much as I will. corny? oh well thats me then if so.
That's all... Let the countdown continue!! :-)BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Praying

Tonight I'm praying for a friend... A fellow mother... A fellow follower of our GREAT God! A loving God who always knows what's best.
Today I found out she miscarried and my heart breaks for her and her family. Nothing anyone can say will help but prayers do wonders so that's where I'm at tonight ... In prayer.
I'm sorry friend for your loss.
May God heal you and yours.

wanna know?

my biggest pet peeve....
is the LAUNDRY! I hate it! I hate everything about it! I dont like putting it in the washer I dont like adding the soap, I dont like taking it out, I really really dont like putting it away!! In fact if u came to my house right now and went upstairs u would see about 6 piles of folded clothes!
at least I fold em right?
yeah well so yesterday I looked at the HUGE mountain of laundry in my garage and since we were doing preschool I said ok tomorrow will be laundry day.... well today is here here and its now 2pm and I havent even looked at it! In fact when we left for gymnastics today I purposely looked the other direction cause I didnt want "it" to know i noticed "it"

ok after stuffing myself with lunch and baby down for nap I guess now would be a good time to start right? ugh ok.... but I will hate every min. !
or maybe ill take a nap.

Day #1 !

We started our timer at 10am. the school bell (micro timer) rang and we were in session, Sarah and I got our books, pencils, markers and energy to the table :)
We started off with the weather check and agreed its a beautiful day and then did our first activity. You match up the weather with what clothes you would wear in that kind of weather. She did great and didn't even need my guidance.
Next we practiced writing her name and age. and she got a sticker on her paper :) Sarah favorite! STICKERS! lol
This week is dinosaur week! So we learned about TRex and Triceratops today, read a little story about each dinosaurs, colored a picture and then did some counting fun on print-outs with the dinosaurs we were learning about.
Next was scissors fun! I had printouts that I got from a fantastic book I found off amazon and if you know Sarah you would know she loves scissors! So she had to follow directions and follow the lines to where it was asking her to follow. And again with no help or guidance she did great and begged for more!
What kid asks for more school work? I dunno but I dont want to burn us out on the first day! So this is why I broke our schedule down to 3 hrs throughout the day.
Our first hour is over and its now break time/ snack-time/ mommy blogging time.! yay!
My goal for this school year & 1/2 is to be sure its based on FUN! and making it so she wants to learn!
So we can check off the 3 "R's" reading, writing, arithmetic & fine motor skills for this morning all with in one short and sweet hour! yay for teacher and student!

So... our next hour starts at 12pm and starts off with lunch which I have included in our lesson plan and after our yummy lunch we will move on to our next subjects.
Art & Science :)
Stay tuned....

First day of preschool (officially)

So today will be the first day of preschool in the Sandberg house (officially). I say officially because since Sarah was 1 1&2yr old we have done preschool type learning and teaching with her. We are starting an official preschool schedule and preparation for kindergarden.
She is turning 4 February 17th and cant wait to celebrate! So with that said we are on the count down for her to be prepared for kindergarden and I would so very much love her to not be behind and make sure she will fall into the curriculum with as much ease as possible.
Now I am NOT and teacher so this will be a learning adventure for both of us but with a great deal of fun and experimentation we will make it through it and it will only get easier (right?) well in any case it will make it easier for when its time to do the same with the next 2 girls :)
So I plan to blog about our adventure not to just share or show off (remember NOT and expert just a mom doing her best ) but to be able to look back on this as a journal as we go through this together :)
So I went shopping and got lots of fun stuff and added some more curriculum and gave my printer a workout and I think we are ready!
So day 1: week 1 our schedule kicks off at 9:30am. and after our first day I will back to blog about how it goes and how we both did as teacher and student .!
Let the journey begin :)

A thought for the evening

Today made me value my little family that much more and value the time we have with eachother and realize life is great and God is greater!
I made choices in life that brought be to where I am and where we r headed and I take the good and the bad and put it to work for me. It has all in one way or another made me so very grateful for what we have as this little family of ours continues to grow by the blessings of our God.

As I lay me down to sleep I thank the Lord my soul to keep, keep me safely through the night and wake me with the morning light.
Amen

I used to say this every night as a little girl it was sewn on a embroidered picture my grandmother made to hang in our room and I have never forgotten it. I wish I still had, it but I think I may have just put another craft on my "to-do" list for my girls room :-)

I think that's all for today...

Our special day

So, today was a special day for us and our little family. We all (my husband & I, Adrian, Sarah, & Sophia) went up in front of our congregation and in front of them and our Lord and savior we dedicated to raise our little Sophia knowing our God. We did this along with our church family coming along side us to help guide our children and raise them in knowing Him. It was a special day for us and for our church. So glad we did this and at a place we call our home church.
May we do our best to raise our children knowing Him and loving Him,
Amen.

we will remember this day and cant wait for next year to do the same with Sydney :)

Mobile uploads

Hum I think this is perfect! Since most of my blogging is random and just spur of the moment thoughts amyway! So now I can blog from my iPhone which is way convenient for me since I dint have much time to sit at the comp. I likey BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Sickness

So that was a wild adventure! Glad its over with!
for the past 24hrs i had a nasty stomach bug that left me pretty much disabled to even care for my own children... Thank God for my mother in law who came to the rescue and picked up the girls for a over night stay. I spent the day sick and out of it and really praying for a 24hr bug only. I slept alot and tried to regain my strength.
I woke up this morning feeling soooooo much better i cleaned, sanitized, and showered. I got it all back to working order in the house and while my little Sarah doesnt want to come home I am missing them like crazy.
My husband had to work last night so he can be off tonight. Im resting and waiting patiently for him to awake so we can go get our girls.!
Ill take this time to rest and recover and rehydrate myself, and baby Sydney who i think is very happy now that im not throwing every thing up (sorry).
We usually dont get sick much but it seems this winter everything is going around and we have been catching most of it. I wish people with sick kids no matter how hard it is to stay indoors would. Its so not fun to pass things around. Even if it means missing a fun event its better in the long run to just laylow and recover so that not everyone and their mom gets it!
with that all said im gonna go enjoy some online retail therapy. it always seems to cheer me up. :)
